Porter / Dish Room Attendant

Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Porter / Dish Room Attendant to support daily operations in a refinery cafeteria. This position is responsible for washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness throughout the dish room and kitchen areas, and assisting cafeteria staff as needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, works well with others, follows instructions, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced food service environment.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday


• Day shift


• No evenings or weekends required

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.


• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and properly.


• Keep the dish room, kitchen, and assigned work areas clean and organized.


• Remove trash and dispose of waste properly.


• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces and equipment.


• Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies as needed.


• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.


• Assist cafeteria team members with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully pass a required pre-employment drug test and background check.


• Dependable, punctual, and able to work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.


• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.


• Able to follow instructions and work well with others.


• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive physical tasks.


• Able to lift and carry supplies, dishes, and equipment as required by the job.


• Previous dishwashing, janitorial, or food service experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a refinery cafeteria and requires working in a commercial kitchen and dish room environment. Duties may include exposure to hot water, steam, cleaning chemicals, wet floors, and varying temperatures. Employees must follow all required food safety, sanitation, and refinery site safety rules.

Training will be provided on job duties, equipment, and applicable safety procedures.
