Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician

Pay: Starting at $28.00/hour+ based on experience and technical skills
Position Overview
We are seeking a Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician to support machining operations in a production environment. This position is responsible for machine setup, CNC operation, process improvements, quality verification, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient manufacturing of precision components.
The ideal candidate has experience with CNC milling, setup work, machining strategies, and maintaining tight production tolerances.
Primary Responsibilities
CNC Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- Prepare machines, tooling, fixtures, and materials for production runs.
- Run production jobs while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Support multi-axis machining operations when required.
Production & Process Support
- Review blueprints, setup documentation, travelers, and technical instructions.
- Adjust machine setups and machining processes to improve productivity.
- Edit CNC programs and make programming adjustments as needed.
- Develop and improve fixtures to support repeatable production and reduced setup times.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues independently.
Quality Control
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify parts meet dimensional requirements and tolerances as tight as ± .002".
- Maintain documentation related to production and quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency.
Workplace Safety
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support safe operation of machinery and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience.
- 4–5 years of hands-on CNC machine setup and fixturing experience.
- Experience using SolidWorks CAM Pro or comparable CAM software.
- Strong understanding of tooling selection, machining methods, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience operating CNC lathes, grinders, drilling equipment, and related machine tools.
- Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to process improvements.
