Prediction Internship/Co-op

The Prediction & Behavior ML team is responsible for developing machine-learned models that understand the entire scene around our vehicle and perform a wide range of tasks, from forecasting the behavior of other agents, guiding our own vehicle’s actions, and leveraging scene understanding for offline applications. 

Our models tackle these challenges by learning behaviors from Zoox’s immense datasets and applying them on-vehicle to influence our vehicle’s driving behavior and off-vehicle to provide state-of-the art solutions for autonomy simulation and validation. 

Given the tight integration of behavior forecasting and motion planning, our team necessarily works very closely with the Planner team to advance our overall vehicle behavior. The Prediction & Behavior ML team also works closely with our Perception, Simulation, and Systems Engineering teams on many cross-team initiatives.

As an intern you will push the boundaries of deep learning for behavior prediction, planning, autonomy validation, ML for simulation, foundation models, and more. You will work together with other interns and full time engineers to develop new ideas and benchmark them on Zoox’s vast internal datasets and powerful compute resources. You will also have the opportunity to share your results with the wider autonomy teams at Zoox and through external conference publications.

• Advanced understanding of Python or C++
• Experience with production ML pipelines: dataset creation, labeling, training, metrics
• Experience with Neural Network design and implementation

Compensation

The monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
