Pre-Kindergarten Aide

We are looking for an enthusiastic Christian pre-Kindergarten aide to assist teachers to help students learn, develop moral character, and understand Christian principles that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible young men and women consistent with the Board-approved vision, mission, policies, goals and curriculum. Work schedules vary with the school and teaching assignment. Work may be performed after school hours, as necessary.

Essential Duties

• Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Tenets of Faith and Christian Philosophy of Education.


• Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions.


• Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible for their children’s education and assist them.


• Assist teach with a classroom environment of care and respect that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. Maintain positive and consistent discipline.


• Encourage students to develop a relationship with Christ. 


• Differentiate and pace instruction to maximize student progress.


• Motivate and engage students in the learning process.


• Show students how to properly use and care for materials.


• Maintain and improve professional competence through staff development and self-selected activities. 


• Serve as member of department/building teams or committees, as needed.


• The candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus and be dedicated to the philosophy of Christian education.

Essential Skills:

• Passion for Christian education and the ability to inspire young learners


• Love for school aged children and understanding of unique social, physiological, emotional, cognitive, psychological and spiritual needs


• Experience with and skill in learning and teaching modalities including various instructional technologies and strategies


• Desire to work in the context of a Christian professional learning community

SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS FOR TEACHER ASSISTANT:

• Assist teacher with classroom instruction


• Assist teacher with leading circle time activities


• Prepare classroom activities with students


• Assist students with backpacks, lunch bags, water bottles


• Assist teacher with any task involving prepping for activities


• Assist with student arrival and dismissals on the outside curb


• Attend devotions and department meetings


• Supervise lunch duty and recess


• Attend specials with students


• May be asked to cover other classes or utilized in other departments for assistance
