Responsibilities







  • Mentors, coaches, and develops team members to improve performance and enhance skills

  • Participates in recruiting, hiring, and interviewing of all new counselors

  • Maintains open daily communication with direct team members and team leads

  • Manages budgetary responsibilities

  • Demonstrates understanding of practice management policies and procedures

  • Assists in streamlining processes and training

  • Participates in group and one-on-one training for staff, managers, and clinicians

  • Trains employees on the NextGen practice management system and eligibility software

  • Reviews teams EDU presentation and eye model to ensure thorough and impactful educations

  • Works with Premium Services Training Manager to develop content and collateral for educating patients

  • Assists the Premium Services Training Manager with updating the Patient Care Counselor Training Manual with respect to processes, workflows, and policies

  • Reviews ATL conversions weekly; works with Team Leads and management to assist those employees or locations falling below company goals

  • Provides feedback to directors and managers on ongoing training objectives, further development for staff and/or software, and creative ideas for continued growth and stability related to staff and practice management utilization

  • Collaborates closely with Revenue Cycle Management Team to identify training needs, assess A/R rejections and denials, negative payer trends, and provide education and feedback to employees and management for appropriate action, including training agenda materials

  • Prepares and delivers presentations, demonstrations, and participates in staff meetings

  • Performs additional duties as assigned









Qualifications








  • High School Diploma or GED required




  • Experience working for a Ophthalmology Practice




  • 1-2 years working in a Patient Care Counselor Position, preferably in Premium Services




  • Previous training experience preferred




  • Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred




  • Knowledge and experience with NextGen EHR/EPM system 




  • Working knowledge of insurances and requirements




  • Must be an intermediate to extensive PC user, and be able to maintain (create, edit, professional output) Microsoft Office products efficiently (Word, Excel, Power Point)




  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills




  • Ability to be a champion of change - positively leading team through changes in department




  • Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment



  • Motivation to succeed, ability to motivate others to succeed


  • Ability to travel to all Southwestern Eye Center locations
