Job Description - Preschool Academy Assistant Principal
JOB SUMMARY:
The Preschool Academy Assistant Principal is responsible for the daily supervision and management of the academy’s education staff, the effective implementation of curriculum and lesson plans, and serving as acting Principal in the Principal’s absence.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and schedule academy staff, including breaks and leave time requests.
Review and approve staff timesheets for payroll processing.
Draft and submit staff performance reviews.
Collect and review food counts and temperature records.
Supervise preparation of meals for students.
Submit supplies requisitions and maintain supplies and equipment inventory.
Ensure full and proper implementation of academy curricula.
Ensure compliance with ECERS-R classroom environmental standards.
Ensure compliance with NAEYC accreditation and other established educational quality standards and goals.
Submit Student Change Forms to Central Office.
Collect and submit signed Child Care Aware and other required student attendance sheets to Central Office.
Maintain student files consistent with licensing standards.
Transition students to classrooms according to their developmental stage.
Provide such other related duties as may, from time-to-time, be assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Associate's degree or higher, in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or related field.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a licensed childcare facility or school.
OTHER RELATED REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of computers and computing (specifically MSOffice).
CPR/First Aid and Food Handling certifications.
Excellent verbal and writing skills, as well as demonstrated organizational skills and curriculum experience.
Willingness and ability to work regular early morning and late evening hours.
Experience in an accredited early childhood education program.
Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language helpful but not required.
