Preschool Aide

Position Summary: The Preschool Aide is an important part of the early education classrooms, assisting the teacher in all aspects of student guiding and teaching. 

Responsibilities: 

Primary:  

Instruction and Support – 40% 

1. Help teacher(s) conduct small group instruction.  
2. Provide one-on-one support for struggling students.  
3. Assist teacher(s) in daily classroom activities.  

Student Supervision and Care – 40%  

1. Walk students to/from specials, gym, recess and other activities.  
2. Mintor lunch and recess. 
3. Manage discipline issues.  
4. Supervise students in before/after school care programs.  

Classroom Operations – 20%  

1. Restock classroom supplies as needed.  
2. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.  
3. Assist with bulletin boards and hallway displays.  
4. Assist the teacher(s) with parent and family engagement and communication.

Education:  

Required Education:  

• High school diploma or equivalent.  
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification.  

Experience:  

Required Experience:  

• Previous experience in early childhood or elementary classrooms.  
• In Accordance with MN Rule 3, must be teacher or assistant teacher qualified.

• Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Travel: This position requires some local travel.  

Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment and will routinely use standard office equipment such computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. The work environment also involves working in a Preschool-12 Private Christian School and Evangelical Church environment and all employees are expected to have a demonstrated and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Working Hours: Typically, employees are expected to work during normal hours and days of business, between Monday and Friday. Specific expectations for each position will be communicated by the supervisor of this position. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
