JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and Primary Responsibilities:

The Preschool Ministry Coordinator provides strategic leadership, spiritual care, and operational oversight for all ministries from birth to preschool. This person shepherds children and their parents, and builds a high-capacity volunteer team so that families are encouraged, volunteers are equipped, and every preschool environment is safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered.

Essential Responsibilities:

Spiritual & Strategic Leadership 

• Provide vision and direction for all preschool ministries in alignment with the mission and values of the church.


• Disciple parents through meaningful relationships, encouragement, prayer, and practical support.


• Foster discipleship of the youngest generation, helping parents understand their role as primary disciple makers.


• Pray regularly over the children, families, and leaders within the preschool ministry. 

Team Development & Volunteer Leadership

• Recruit, train, and mobilize a dynamic team of volunteers and coaches to lead preschool environments.


• Equip, coach, and care for volunteers, empowering them to grow in leadership and spiritual maturity.


• Create a culture of joy, excellence, and collaboration across all preschool environments.

Family Engagement & Communication 

• Build authentic, encouraging relationships with families navigating early childhood stages.


• Provide resources, encouragement, and guidance to help parents spiritually lead their preschoolers at home.


• Communicate regularly and effectively with families and volunteers.

Operational Oversight 

• Direct all Sunday morning and Wednesday night preschool programs, including Little Community and Awana.


• Manage weekly scheduling of ministry coaches, leaders, and assistants.


• Ensure that curriculum is developmentally appropriate, biblically sound, and aligned with church values.


• Coordinate with the Next Gen Administrative Assistant in the preparation of ministry spaces, materials, and supplies, ensuring an inviting and safe environment. 


• Ensure strict compliance with all church safety and security policies. 

Event Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead planning and execution of key kids ministry events. 


• Participate in and support broader churchwide events and initiatives as needed. 

Other Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Pastor of Kids Ministry or Executive Pastor of Ministries.
