Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment across production and support areas.


• Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failure points and take corrective action.


• Follow and uphold all safety protocols, including LOTO procedures and hazard identification.


• Execute maintenance tasks on mechanical systems including drive components, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.


• Support basic troubleshooting and repairs identified during preventative maintenance activities.


• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support maintenance tasks.


• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work, inspections, and findings.


• Assist in updating maintenance procedures and documentation for continuous improvement.


• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to schedule and complete PM activities efficiently.


• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

Core Skills / Competencies

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices in an industrial environment.


• Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical systems.


• Familiarity with mechanical systems (drives, pneumatics, hydraulics).


• Understanding of electrical components and control systems.


• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Commitment to safety and safe work practices.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience / Requirements

• Experience in industrial maintenance or preventative maintenance programs.


• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.


• Basic experience with PLCs and automated equipment preferred.


• Technical training in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems preferred.


• Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to support maintenance schedules.


• Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
