Job Description - Principal Compute Pathfinding ASIC Design

The team works closely with internal engineering groups, external partners, and customers to architect, evaluate, simulate, and design advanced ASIC solutions that shape Micron\u2019s long\u2011term technology roadmap.\n\nWe are seeking a highly skilled ASIC Architect with strong experience in architecture definition, logic design, synthesis, and system\u2011level evaluation. The ideal candidate will assist with architectural definition from concept through implementation readiness, bridging high\u2011level system modeling with RTL development, physical design considerations, and product transition.\n\n### \n\n### Responsibilities\n\n * Define and evolve ASIC and system architectures, including logic partitioning, module interfaces, and design tradeoffs across performance, power, area, and scalability.\n\n * Write detailed block\u2011level and architectural specifications to guide RTL design, verification, and system simulation activities.\n\n * Oversee logic design and synthesis activities, ensuring alignment with architectural intent and project requirements.\n\n * Contribute to backend synthesis and physical design flows, evaluating the impacts of placement, routing, timing, and power on architectural decisions.\n\n * Perform system\u2011level modeling, validate proof\u2011of\u2011concept designs, and analyze new architectural capabilities to assess feasibility and value.\n\n * Drive evaluation of complete ASIC flows from high\u2011level design through synthesis, place\u2011and\u2011route, timing closure, and power optimization.\n\n * Collaborate with multi-functional teams\u2014including build, verification, CAD, modeling, product engineering, and external vendors\u2014to ensure successful implementation readiness.\n\n * Support the transition of new architectures into product development, contributing to long\u2011term roadmap planning and technology pathfinding.\n\n\n\n\n### Minimum Qualifications\n\n * Master\u2019s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a Bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent experience) with 12+ years of relevant ASIC architecture and build experience.\n\n * Extensive experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog for architecture exploration, logic design, and RTL definition.\n\n * Strong background in computer architecture, data processing, and system\u2011level design concepts.\n\n * Experience across ASIC design flows, including logic design, synthesis, and interaction with physical design teams.\n\n * Strong analytical, problem\u2011solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.\n\n\n\n\n### Preferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience with advanced ASIC design tools and methodologies, including synthesis, static timing analysis, and power optimization.\n\n * Solid understanding of backend physical design flows and their impact on architectural decisions.\n\n * Familiarity with high\u2011level synthesis (HLS), system modeling, or architectural exploration frameworks.\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nASIC Engineer 5\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
