Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Lead Principal Electrical Engineer III or IV (Sentinel) at our Chandler, AZ facility. This is a dual level role III or IV Lead Electrical Engineer. \n\n\nThe Chandler group performs cradle-to-grave engineering on most of their launch vehicles. They are working on approximately 15 separate vehicles at any given time, among them are IRBM, ICBM, Strike, GPI, Antares, Minotaur, Pegasus, GMD, Sentinel, and many more. \n\n\nTheir products serve a variety of purposes including ISS (International Space Station) cargo resupply, deploying defense satellites, developing missile interceptor technology, and providing much needed target vehicles to better hone our military capability. \n\n\nThis means you can be part of the design, operations planning, ground support development, analysis, testing, integration, launch operations and more. There is plenty to do and learn that will reinforce your existing skillsets. Our department has a good variety of sub-groups to choose from where you can roll up your sleeves to become an industry expert or opt to pursue a more well-rounded approach while learning a little about everything.\n\nJob Duties:\n\n * Leads the Electrical Engineering (EE) team for the Sentinel program\n * Oversee all aspects of electrical design ensuring compliance to established command media and customer requirements\n * Single point of contact for all electrical engineering matters to multiple customers and peers which include the EE department, other functional departments, Sentinel program management and the Sentinel customer\n * Collaborates with other product teams and disciplines to address EE requirement impacts into total system design\n * Works in a team environment, leading team on a variety of tasks with adaptability and quick responses to unique challenges\n * Performs Cost Account Management (CAM), reports variances, earned value, and provides inputs to program master schedule\n * Develop and presents technical material to all levels of customers to represent the program and ensure compliance to all requirements\n\n\n\nJob responsibilities:\n\n * Broad understanding and application of industry and company electrical engineering technical standards.\n * Broad technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines.\n * Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.\n * Studies basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems.\n * Perform qualification testing, characterization testing, troubleshooting, and test data review of completed designs.\n * Perform data analysis to identify trends that may indicate out of tolerance or degraded part performance.\n * Perform testing to characterize off-nominal behavior of components.\n * Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner while supporting team decisions and goals.\n * Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service.\n * Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs.\n * Disciplined with escalation when required.\n * Derives and decomposes requirements through multiple sources of documentation and design meetings.\n * Evaluate uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.\n * Participates in trade studies for both internal projects and procured equipment.\n * Act with safety as your number one priority through every aspect of the role.\n * Provides formal peer review of engineering designs or analyses for team members. \n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications Level III\n\n * BS in engineering and 5 Years\u0027 Experience or 3 Years Experience and Masters\n * Electrical engineering preferred.\n * U.S. Citizenship is required\n * Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security clearance is required\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications Level IV\n\n * BS in engineering and 8 Years experience, or 6 Years experience with master\u0027s in engineering.\n * Electrical engineering preferred.\n * U.S. Citizenship is required.\n * Current and Active DoD Secret Security clearance at time of application\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Active Secret Security Clearance, or higher\n * Experience working in a multi-discipline Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure\n * Experience with missile systems and associated standards\n * Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical components or subsystems\n * Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.\n * Burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of electronic systems.\n * Problem solving not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost, resource and other project challenges.\n * Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and electrical system architectures used to meet customer requirements.\n * Knowledgeable with the use of basic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and electronic loads.\n * Experience using analytical software tools, such as MATLAB or Python, to analyze and reduce data to identify key characteristics and trends.\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
