Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Principal Engineer \u2013 DMSMS-Obsolescence to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located onsite in Oklahoma City, OK. Remote/Hybrid is not available.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Develop, coordinate and conduct reliability, maintainability and availability studies and evaluations of engineering design throughout the program life cycle (business capture, development, production, and sustainment)\n\n * Analyzes aircraft maintenance programs to determine effectiveness and creates written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness.\n\n * Completes understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standard airframes.\n\n * Research Bill Of Materials, engineering parts lists and IPBs to develop a comprehensive database.\n\n * Identify and document critical obsolescence data elements for items that impact longevity of LRUs, SRUs and piece-parts.\n\n * Canvas manufacturers and vendors for obsolescence information related; maintain open, regular communication to ensure proactive obsolescence identification.\n\n * Assess and provide overall health assessment of systems within the overall scope of effort; provide detailed assessments of items impacting systems negatively.\n\n * Perform trade-study analysis for obsolescence resolutions including cost-benefits, lifetime buy benefits, technical data modification effort, system impact, non-recurring engineering effort and complexity factor.\n\n * Identify and define resolution recommendations; grade resolutions based on based on cost-benefit, mission impact and sustainability for life of system.\n\n * Provide preferred resolutions that are thoroughly researched and provide the customer a clear path and a direct comparison to less favorable resolutions.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a Bachelor of Science discipline (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience; Master\u2019s degree with 3 years experience; PhD with 1 year experience\n\n * Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.\n\n * Ability to obtain/maintain access to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma\n\n * Excellent communications skills \u2013 work with multiple departments to solve problems.\n\n * Basic knowledge of JEDMICS, BLADE, AVCOM, LDMS, Silicon Expert, FLIS and FEDMALL\n\n * Working knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs and maintenance parts lists\n\n * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\n\n * Logistics experience with solving DMSMS issues and providing suitable resolutions.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (or higher).\n\n * Knowledge of B-2 maintenance/sustainment activity\n\n * Knowledge of Military Specifications, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and other related technical and contractual documents.\n\n * Significant experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)\n\n * Experience with reading and understanding technical data (e.g., Technical Orders, Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, Bills of Material, Engineering Specifications, etc.)\n\n * A working understanding of government aircraft maintenance and supply processes/systems.\n\n * Extensive experience, thorough understanding, and ability to mine, analyze, sort, and filter, data, and information from Government Supply Chain Legacy Systems (e.g., D035, Stock Control System; D043, Air Force Interchangeability and Substitution System; D200, Requirements Management System; Purchase request processing System (PRPS), Contract Repair Management System (CRMS), and Logistics Installations and Mission Support \u2013 Enterprise View (LIMS-EV suite).\n\n * Extensive experience, thorough understanding, and working knowledge of Depot Supply Chain Management processes, management of end item buy and repair requirements, knowledge/experience with shop-process, workflow, and quality assurance requirements related to US Air Force/military supply system processes and procedures\n\n * Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficient with Microsoft products.\n\n\n\n\n#Yellow\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $84,700.00 - $127,100.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
