This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and will be assigned to 1st shift on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule (Monday \u2013 Thursday).\n\nThe selected candidate will become part of the Liaison Engineering team within the Vehicle Engineering IPT.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Act as engineering authority for non-conformances supporting a restricted program\n\n * Perform timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations\n\n * Coordinate with a team of multiple disciplines engineers to determine effective solutions to defects that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives\n\n * Basic knowledge of subsystems (electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids and propulsion systems) installations, composite structures, \u0026 metallic structures\n\n * Maintain integrity of the Material Review Board (MRB) process and engineering authority\n\n * Some of the tools you\u0027ll be using are NX, VisPro, MES, and TeamCenter\n\n\n\n\nThis requisition may be filled as either a Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) based on the qualifications below.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Basic qualifications for a Principal Engineer include a Bachelor\u0027s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, a Master\u0027s Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience.\n\n * Basic qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control include a Bachelor\u0027s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 8 years of experience, a Master\u0027s Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with 3 years of experience.\n\n * This position requires a current in-scope U.S. Government Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering\n\n * Experience with TeamCenter and NX, Visualization Professional, or other CAD program\n\n * Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment\n\n * Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE ) (3-D model engineering definition)\n\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
