Identify and assess obsolete or DMS‑listed components.
Develop mitigation strategies (e.g., part substitution, redesign, last‑time‑buy, or engineering change request).
Maintain an up‑to‑date obsolescence database and generate regular risk reports.
Source, evaluate, and qualify military‑specification (mil‑spec) parts.
Ensure that all mil‑spec parts meet applicable standards (e.g., MIL‑PRF‑38534, MIL‑STD‑810, etc.).
Review engineering drawings, schematics, and TDPs to extract component requirements (part numbers, material, finish, tolerances, etc.).
Perform schematic capture, simulation, and analysis of analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits using tools such as SPICE, Altium, or similar.
Create and update Bill of Materials (BOM) and component specification sheets.
Verify that purchased parts match the engineering intent and design constraints.
Help maintain accurate configuration records in the PLM system.
