Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Principal Flying Test Bed LCS Analyst/Architect (Level 3) OR Sr Principal Flying Test Bed LCS Analyst/Architect (Level 4) specializing in Liquid Cooling Systems (LCS) Subsystems Performance Analysis to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will lead performance analysis and architecture of advanced liquid cooling and related thermal-fluid subsystems on a cutting‑edge flying test bed, helping integrate complex avionics and aircraft hardware into a high‑performance, flight‑ready environment.
Note: This role is fully onsite; remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Work both independently and as part of a large, multi‑disciplinary engineering team.
Perform fluid system related analysis in support of the development of aircraft subsystems as well as the integration of aircraft avionics and the installation of various aircraft hardware. Analysis includes, but not limited to, subsystem performance modeling, such as liquid cooling systems, air cycle systems, fluid distribution systems, and compartment temperature assessments as influenced by structural heat transfer and compartment heat sources.
Apply working knowledge of one or more of the following: Liquid Cooling Systems, Bleed Air systems, Environmental Control Systems (ECS – pack and vapor cycle machines), fuel subsystems, and avionics cooling.
Support system‑level test planning, test execution, verification, and troubleshooting for thermal‑fluid subsystems.
Participate in internal program, customer, and supplier technical exchange meetings and formal program milestone reviews to present results and provide status updates.
Manage team cost and schedule commitments and mentor junior engineers in fluid subsystems performance analysis.

Principal Flying Test Bed LCS Analyst/Architect (Level 3)
Professional experience modeling fluid systems using tools such as AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Fluent, Flowmaster, Easy5, or similar fluid‑simulation software with fluid‑network solvers
Professional experience related to the development and/or integration of liquid cooling systems.
Sr Principal Flying Test Bed LCS Analyst/Architect (Level 4)
Professional experience modeling fluid systems using tools such as AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Fluent, Flowmaster, Easy5, or similar fluid‑simulation software with fluid‑network solvers
Professional experience related to the development and/or integration of liquid cooling systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
