PRN Oncology PSS II (as needed)

Join our Medical Oncology department as an Oncology Patient Service Specialist II!

This is a PRN (as needed) position!

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

1. Provides patients and physicians with professional and friendly reception duties.


2. Organizes patient flow; keeping physicians and patients on schedule.


3. Maintains patient files and accounts in a professionally accurate manner.


4. Screens office manager, physician and nurse calls, handling appropriately.


5. Cross-train in PCT/CNA/MA role.


6. Performs all clinical duties per licensed health care provider or delegation of a registered nurse, designated specifically by the clinic.


7. Provides assistance to licensed health care providers and nursing staff for general patient assessments, rooming patients, procedures, treatments, filing/retrieving medical records, and general office clerical duties.


8. Performs patient care tasks following clinic standards of care as defined in policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent.


• Current BLS Certification preferred or obtained within 3 months of hire. 


• Required to successfully completion of Assessment-Based Recognition (ABR) program in order entry for electronic health records (EHR’s), within 30 days of hire or a current CO CNA License or current RMA/CMA Certification.

 Skills:

• Clerical: typing filing, scheduling, computer, phone and people skills


• Excellent customer service skills; strong computer skills


• Phlebotomy experience preferred.


• Laboratory and/or X-ray experience preferred.

 Experience:

• Two years in a reception or clerical field.

SALARY RANGE

• ‎$20.41 - $30.02/hour + 14% PRN Differential. 


• Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
