Job Description - Probate Attorney

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Job Description

  • Manage probate and estate matters from initial intake through resolution, maintaining strong ownership of each case.
  • Handle independent and dependent administrations, contested probate proceedings, guardianships, and related estate matters.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop case strategies, manage discovery, negotiate resolutions, and prepare matters for mediation or trial.
  • Appear at hearings, motions, and contested matters in probate and other courts as needed.
  • Advise clients and families through sensitive estate and probate issues while delivering clear, practical legal guidance.
  • Coordinate effectively with paralegals, administrative professionals, opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and workflows across a busy caseload.
  • Identify risks, develop solutions, and move cases forward with professionalism and sound legal judgment.

Qualifications

  • Texas Bar license in good standing.
  • Experience with independent and dependent administrations, contested proceedings, guardianships, or probate litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, drafting, negotiation, and case-management skills.
  • Courtroom and hearing experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and commitment to client service.
