Process Mechanical Project Manager

Our client is a growing design-build organization specializing in complex industrial and food manufacturing facilities across North America. As demand continues to expand within the food processing sector, they are seeking a Process Mechanical Project Manager to play a critical role in the planning, design, and implementation of process systems that bring manufacturing facilities to life.

This is a unique opportunity for an engineering professional who enjoys both technical design and project execution. You'll work directly with clients, design teams, equipment vendors, and construction professionals to ensure food production systems are integrated efficiently, safely, and effectively.

What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with food manufacturing clients to define process requirements and production needs.


• Design and coordinate process utility systems including steam, compressed air, water, process cooling, and CIP systems.


• Develop equipment layouts, process exhibits, and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and related design tools.


• Coordinate the integration of process equipment with building infrastructure and utility systems.


• Work closely with project managers and field teams to ensure successful installation, startup, and commissioning.


• Lead technical discussions with equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and engineering partners.


• Review drawings, submittals, and design documents to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with project objectives.


• Assist with estimating, scheduling, procurement activities, and design-build proposal development.


• Participate in 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews alongside architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


• Approximately 5+ years of experience designing or managing process mechanical systems.


• Experience supporting food, beverage, or industrial processing facilities is strongly preferred.


• Understanding of process utilities, equipment integration, sanitary design principles, and P&ID development.


• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office applications.


• Experience with AutoCAD 3D, Navisworks, SolidWorks, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients, vendors, and project teams.


• Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with project coordination responsibilities.
