Our Home is seeking Processing Machine Operators (PMO) to join our team. The PMO is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the processing machines to assure that they are working properly and meeting production demands. They must possess leadership skills in working with the staff in the packaging room. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. The regular schedule for this role is M-F 5:30am - 3:30pm. The ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and check production schedule and determine what products will be running.
• Safe equipment operation in processing areas and all relevant plant operations.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks related to processing.
• Ability to perform minor to moderate maintenance tasks related to processing machines.
• Work with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
• Report food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action.
• Perform other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell.
• Able to lift/move up to 80 lbs.
• Specific vision includes the following: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts; loud work environment
• All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, safety issues, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
• All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF Food Safety Code.

• 2-4 years related experience and training preferred.
• Aptitude working safety with heavy processing equipment
• Able to make equipment changes quickly and accurately.
• Must be available and dependable for occasional overtime (coming in early or staying later) and Saturday work.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Must be willing to perform duties assigned by supervisor or group leader.
