NWS is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Procurement Support Supervisor to join our growing Operations team.
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the procurement function and leading a team of Procurement Specialists. This position ensures procurement activities are executed efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. The Procurement Supervisor serves as the primary people leader for the procurement team, driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement while supporting procurement strategies established by leadership.
This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure business needs are met through effective purchasing practices and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, coach, and develop Procurement Specialists to ensure effective performance and professional growth.
- Manage daily team activities and workload distribution to support operational priorities.
- Conduct performance evaluations, goal setting, coaching sessions, and corrective action discussions as needed.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of procurement personnel.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and results-driven team environment.
Procurement Operations Management
- Oversee the procurement process to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchasing activities.
- Monitor purchase order creation, order tracking, supplier follow-up, and issue resolution.
- Ensure procurement transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Review procurement activities for accuracy, efficiency, and service-level performance.
- Escalate significant supplier concerns, operational risks, or procurement issues to leadership.
Performance & Accountability
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement team.
- Track workload, purchasing cycle times, supplier responsiveness, and service-level compliance.
- Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Implement corrective measures to improve performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure team accountability for procurement execution and issue resolution.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Support and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, pricing, or service concerns.
- Monitor supplier performance and communicate issues requiring management attention.
- Assist procurement leadership with supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal departments to identify procurement needs and priorities.
- Serve as a liaison between Procurement Specialists, stakeholders, and procurement leadership.
- Facilitate communication regarding purchasing requirements, operational challenges, and project timelines.
- Support implementation of procurement initiatives, system enhancements, and organizational changes.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Promote continuous improvement within procurement operations.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Support compliance audits and documentation requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, ethical purchasing standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related operational experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working with ERP, procurement, purchasing, or inventory management systems.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement processes.

Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Director of Procurement.
