Producer, Digital Content

WWMT/ARC West Michigan is seeking a full-time Digital Content Producer. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting engaging content and social media posts that will drive audience engagement.  This person will consistently look for and create a diverse range of web content from a variety of sources. You'll be responsible for day-to-day content on our digital platforms, and must have the ability to find content, gather and confirm information on stories, react decisively to breaking news, help set up interviews if needed and move crews strategically. We need someone with strong communication skills who can work effectively under pressure. In this position, you'll work with staff and management to generate and write stories and develop content for multiple platforms. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:  

• Solid news judgment

• Be a compelling and accurate writer

• Solid understanding of AP style writing

• Ability to find and develop engaging, relevant content for our digital and social media platforms

• Must be extremely proficient with the use of multiple video-sharing and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok

• Ability to multitask and manage time in order to complete assignments

• Ability to work in deadline-driven environment

• Ability to communicate effectively 

• Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy

• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must

Experience: 

• Must have at least some previous digital content news producing experience at a commercial media station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered

• Degree in Journalism or related field preferred
