The Production Control Clerk supports production control activities by performing clerical and administrative tasks that help ensure the efficient flow of materials and adherence to production schedules. This role assists with tracking manufacturing orders, maintaining accurate system data, monitoring material status, and coordinating information across Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering. The position works under close supervision and focuses on data accuracy, order tracking, and timely communication of issues. Responsibilities Order Tracking & Data Maintenance
Track open manufacturing orders and update status information in ERP, MRP, or production control systems.
Enter, maintain, and verify production-related data, including order changes, dates, quantities, and material status.
Assist in identifying order delays, missing information, or discrepancies and report findings to production control or planning staff.
Production & Materials Support
Monitor inventory levels of parts, components, and raw materials as they relate to production schedules.
Assist with coordinating material availability, supplier deliveries, and order expedites as directed.
Support production planners and supervisors by providing status reports and basic order information.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Communicate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to gather routine updates related to order status.
Help escalate issues such as late materials, quality holds, or scheduling conflicts to appropriate personnel.
Serve as a clerical link between system-generated data and production control teams.
Reporting & Administrative Support
Maintain spreadsheets, trackers, and logs used for production control and order visibility.
Prepare routine reports related to order status, inventory, and production schedules.
File, organize, and maintain production control documentation in shared systems.
Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
0–1 year of general work or manufacturing-related experience preferred.
Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
Ability to accurately enter and maintain data in ERP, MRP, or database systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions, work under close supervision, and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for internal coordination.
