Production Lead I - GLASS Shop/2nd Shift

Reports to:               Glass Shop Supervisor

Summary Description: 

Employee supervises and coordinates activities of the glass shop department.  Assures fulfillment of production quantity and quality of the garage door section lights Performs any position within the department as necessary.

 Essential Duties:

• Communicates production issues to production/office staff


• Creates pull lists for ATO and closes out all router orders


• Maintains adequate section stock for glaziers


• Maintains scrap reports


• Obtains parts from inventory when necessary


• Retrieves and is responsible for fulfillment of unallocated product reports and expedition thereof.


• Preforms tasks of any position within the Glass Shop as needed to meet production needs

Essential Job Skills and Experience

Education/experience:  Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:

• High School Diploma or GED. 


• 2 -3 years of specific or transferrable experience required


• Previous supervisory / lead experience preferred

Skills/Knowledge Required: 

• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately


• Able to lift 50-75lbs safely


• Able to stand for extended periods of time (10-12 hour days)


• Good hand-eye coordination                                                                                 

Physical Environment/Working Conditions: 

This position is in our manufacturing plant.  It will involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. The plant is not climate controlled and will require the employee to dress appropriately.  Noise levels can become high, so Hörmann provides and requires hearing protection in the department.
