Position Overview The Production Manager leads day-to-day production operations in a specialty, high-mix/low-volume pressure-sensitive label manufacturing environment. This role is accountable for safe, consistent, and efficient production; strong floor leadership; on-time delivery; product quality; waste reduction; equipment uptime; and alignment across first and third shifts.
Responsibilities
Lead production execution across first and third shifts, including direct leadership of first-shift production teams and accountability for the third-shift supervisor.
Set daily priorities, allocate labor effectively, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure schedules are executed to meet customer expectations.
Drive performance in safety, quality, on-time delivery, throughput, waste reduction, changeover effectiveness, and operational consistency. Partner with Quality to resolve complaints, nonconformances, root causes, and corrective actions while reinforcing a quality-first culture.
Work closely with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, support preventive maintenance, and prioritize production-critical issues.
Develop frontline employees and supervisors through coaching, training, feedback, accountability, and consistent production-floor presence.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
Progressive manufacturing leadership experience in pressure-sensitive labels, label converting, packaging conversion, printing, laminating, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience leading frontline production teams in a fast-paced operation with shifting priorities and customer demands.
Working knowledge of pressure-sensitive adhesive materials, wide-web handling, laminating, production scheduling, labor planning, safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.
