We are currently seeking a detail-orientated, organized and proactive Production Scheduler to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Production Scheduler will be responsible for planning and coordinating the production schedules to meet customer demands and ensure optimal utilization of resources. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and/or help facilitate detailed master production schedules to meet customer orders and projected sales forecasts.
Coordinate with production, procurement/purchasing, and engineering teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production goals.
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, equipment availability, or other factors.
Communicate with sales and customer service departments to provide updates on production status and delivery timelines.
Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and other issues that may impact production efficiency.
Prioritize production in accordance with delivery due dates. Identify past due orders and provide regular updates on timelines and resources required. Evaluate the impact on remaining schedules and communicate accordingly.
Identify capacity overload based on expected demands.
Analyze production data and generate reports to track orders, performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Provide delivery and promise dates as requested by the Sales and Customer Service Department.
Maintain accurate records of production schedules, work orders, and inventory levels. Update ERP database to best reflect data available in regard to forecast, lead times, stock and deliveries.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and overall production efficiency.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in production scheduling or planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, paint/powder coating and assembly processes is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills and a team-oriented approach.
Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
