Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Are you an experienced Production Scheduler who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with operations to keep production moving?


Pretium Packaging is looking for an experienced Production Scheduler to join our Cleveland, Ohio manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules while balancing customer demand, production capacity, material availability, equipment capabilities, and warehouse constraints.


The ideal candidate understands the complexities of plastics manufacturing, can quickly adjust to changing priorities, and has strong experience using IQMS and ERP systems to manage production planning and scheduling.

What You Will Do


Production Scheduling & Planning



  • Create, publish, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

  • Balance customer demand, production capacity, material availability, labor, and warehouse constraints.

  • Adjust schedules based on demand changes, material shortages, equipment issues, or labor constraints.

  • Prioritize production orders to meet customer delivery commitments.

  • Monitor production progress and quickly adjust schedules when disruptions occur.


Cross-Functional Coordination



  • Work closely with Purchasing to align material availability with production schedules.

  • Communicate production needs, lead times, and schedule changes to ensure timely procurement.

  • Partner with Customer Service to confirm order priorities, delivery dates, and customer commitments.

  • Coordinate with Warehouse teams on material staging, finished goods flow, and shipping schedules.

  • Work directly with plant leadership, production supervisors, and leads to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable.


Order Management & Customer Focus



  • Review customer orders and forecasts to anticipate production requirements.

  • Identify potential risks to on-time delivery and proactively communicate delays or mitigation plans.

  • Provide accurate production and expected ship-date information.

  • Support expedited and high-priority customer orders when required.


Materials & Inventory Alignment



  • Ensure raw materials and components are available to support scheduled production.

  • Monitor material constraints and initiate replenishment or escalation as needed.

  • Align production runs with inventory and warehouse capacity.

  • Help reduce WIP, bottlenecks, and excess inventory through effective scheduling and planning.


Production & Shop Floor Support



  • Communicate production schedules clearly to supervisors and production leads.

  • Participate in daily production meetings and track schedule adherence.

  • Identify downtime, inefficiencies, or bottlenecks affecting production throughput.

  • Assist in developing production recovery plans when schedules are disrupted.


Reporting & Systems



  • Maintain accurate production orders and scheduling information within IQMS and ERP/MRP systems.

  • Generate and analyze reports related to schedule adherence, capacity utilization, inventory, and order status.

  • Ensure schedule and production changes are accurately reflected in system data.

  • Use Excel and production data to identify trends, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.


Continuous Improvement



  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, production flow, and communication.

  • Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Help establish and document standardized scheduling processes and best practices.

  • Partner with operations to reduce bottlenecks and improve overall production efficiency.


What We're Looking For



  • 5–7 years of production scheduling or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Plastics manufacturing experience

  • IQMS experience

  • ERP/MRP system experience

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, material planning, and inventory flow

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams

  • Experience in make-to-order or mixed-mode manufacturing environments

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills

  • Experience supporting warehouse and logistics coordination

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with plant operations and cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work on-site in Cleveland, Ohio

  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred
