Position Summary

The Production Scheduler develops, maintains, and communicates the detailed production schedule that converts the master plan into an executable, capacity-feasible sequence of work across gas turbine manufacturing operations. Working at the operation and work-center level, the Scheduler balances demand, capacity, material availability, and constraint utilization to establish one clear sequence the floor can execute and keeps it current as conditions change. This is the scheduling seat between the production planners and the planning manager: planners own modules and orders, the scheduler owns the sequence across all of them. Success in this role is a schedule that is realistic, stable, and defended, sequenced to what is achievable, resequenced through defined rules rather than reaction, and measured daily against execution. This position supports the GTM Repair and Overhaul value stream.

Reports To: VP Production Planning & CI

Work Location: 6401 North Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041

Position Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated sequence for the repair scope: build and maintain the engine, module, and cell-level sequence across the repair value stream, driven by induction dates and turnaround-time (TAT) gate commitments — one priority across all planners and cells, not a sequence per engine.

  • Manage emergent-scope replanning as the core discipline: absorb inspection findings and condition-driven workscope growth into the sequence with minimal TAT damage — resequencing within defined rules, quantifying the gate impact of each scope change, and escalating TAT-threatening growth to the planning manager the day it is found.

  • Sequence around discovered material demand: work daily from the material planners’ Ready / At Risk / Short picture for parts ordered after inspection; slot materially-ready work into cells while engines wait on parts, so repair capacity stays productive without losing each engine’s place in the TAT plan.

  • Pace induction release and protect flow: manage the release of inducted engines into disassembly so work-in-process stays flowing rather than flooding; protect constraint cells and shared resources as first-order scheduling objectives.

  • Hold TAT gates and the scheduling window: publish and defend the rolling sequence against gate commitments; disposition resequencing requests within defined rules, integrating engineering dispositions and quality holds without breaking the window.

  • Own gate and sequence adherence measurement: publish adherence to TAT gates by engine and to sequence by cell; lead first-pass analysis of misses and feed systemic causes — chronic scope-growth patterns, repeat part shortages, cell capacity gaps — to the planning manager and continuous improvement.

  • Keep the scheduling engine true: own the accuracy of the scheduling toolset today — cell durations, gate structures, priority logic — and routings, durations, and work-center calendars in the enterprise ERP after go-live; support user acceptance testing by validating system scheduling output against known-good manual sequences.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent scheduling and production-control experience.

  • Experience: 4+ years in detailed production scheduling or production control in MRO, repair/overhaul, or discrete manufacturing, with demonstrated ownership of a multi-cell or multi-engine sequence.

  • Technical: Advanced Excel capability (structured workbooks, lookups, logic); fluency with turnaround-time gate structures, capacity math, and priority logic; ability to read routings, travelers, and workscope documents.

  • Working style: Composed and decisive amid constant replanning; able to hold commitments under pressure and communicate sequence decisions clearly and early.

  • Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Desired Qualifications

  • Industry: Aviation, gas turbine, or complex rotating-equipment repair and overhaul — environments where workscope is condition-driven and discovered at inspection.

  • Environment: Experience scheduling repair or overhaul work where scope is not fully known until teardown and inspection. Level-IV depot, heavy-maintenance, or comparable MRO operations experience.

  • Systems: ERP finite-scheduling experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or Oracle); advanced planning and scheduling tools; ERP implementation or user acceptance testing exposure.

  • Operational excellence: Working knowledge of theory of constraints, pull systems, or factory physics concepts applied to a real operations

  • Certifications: APICS/ASCM coursework or certification.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Constraint-based, whole-value-stream thinking across engines, modules, and repair cells.

  • Composure and decisiveness amid constant replanning

  • Analytical rigor: gate math, cell durations, and priority logic done precisely and kept true.

  • Clear, early communication

  • Process discipline under TAT pressure

  • Comfort building in ambiguity
