Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor at Novonesis in Wausau, Wisconsin, you will lead a team responsible for safely meeting customer demand while maintaining quality, productivity, cost, and people objectives. You will play a key role in creating an engaged, high-performing culture where employees work together to continuously improve our operations and deliver biosolutions that help make a positive impact around the world.

The Role & Your Impact

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational execution with tactical decision-making. You will lead weekend shift production activities, support employee development, and help ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will:

• Lead assigned-shift production operations and employees to safely maximize results and meet customer demand.
• Plan work, schedule and assign personnel, set priorities, communicate expectations, and coach team members toward strong performance and engagement.
• Deliver safety, quality, productivity, cost, and people objectives through daily performance management and continuous improvement practices.
• Provide first-line production and equipment support, initiate repair work orders, coordinate preventive maintenance activities, and maintain required documentation.
• Support compliance activities by following up on complaints, CAPA deviations, audit findings, and corrective actions.
• Enforce applicable GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense, safety, sanitation, Kosher, and Halal requirements while supporting cross-functional initiatives and projects.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in a business or science-related discipline.
• One to three years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Strong team leadership and employee coaching skills.
• Effective decision-making and communication skills across organizational levels.
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

• Technical experience working on, troubleshooting, or operating manufacturing equipment.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Interest in driving operational excellence and developing high-performing teams.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

This is an on-site leadership role based in Wausau, Wisconsin.

• Shift: Weekends
• Hours: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday-Sunday
• Frequent entry into the production environment is required.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Physical demands include frequent talking, hearing, keyboarding, and use of hands.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required up to 10%.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay: $75,000-$85,000 based on experience
• 401(k) with up to a 9% company contribution 
• Minimum of 3 weeks of vacation plus 12 holidays and 2 weeks of Wellness Time
