Job Description - Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Eaton\u2019s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This position will be located at our Rumford, RI facility. \n\n \nAs the Production Supervisor \u2013 2nd Shift, you are a key member of the East Providence Operations Team and are responsible for safely leading and coordinating 2nd shift operations to meet daily targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people engagement. You will plan, coordinate, supervise, and motivate production employees, and you will serve as the primary on-site leader for building and site safety during the off shift.\n\n \nScheduled hours for this role are 3:00 pm \u2013 12:00 am (2nd shift).\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n\u2022 Lead 2nd shift shop floor execution to safely fulfill customer orders and meet daily production targets. \n\u2022 Set clear expectations, coach performance, and hold self and team accountable to standard work, documented processes, and procedures. \n\u2022 Build and sustain a visually driven, process-oriented culture that focuses on customer value and continuous improvement. \n\u2022 Promote positive employee relations by modeling Eaton\u2019s Values, Ethics, and philosophies and by addressing concerns promptly and respectfully. \n\u2022 Track and review key performance metrics; use the Eaton Business System to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements within the work area. \n\u2022 Partner with day shift Value Stream Managers to ensure effective shift handoffs, continuity of production, and rapid resolution of issues. \n\u2022 Ensure employees have the training, information, and tools needed to perform work safely, effectively, and to quality standards. \n\u2022 Translate plant vision and goals into actionable shift priorities; communicate progress and reinforce alignment through daily direction and feedback. \n\u2022 Perform routine safety and security checks (including perimeter walks) and respond to incidents, alarms, and escalations in accordance with site procedures.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution OR a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience. \n\u2022 Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing supervisory experience. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. \n\u2022 This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Experience supervising in a high-mix manufacturing environment on an off shift (limited support functions on-site). \n\u2022 Experience working in a union environment and partnering effectively with union leadership to support plant objectives. \n\u2022 Experience using production systems (ERP/MRP/MES) for labor reporting, work order execution, and schedule adherence.\n\n \nPosition Success Criteria: \n\u2022 Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, standard work, daily accountability, problem solving). \n\u2022 Demonstrated safety leadership, including incident response, hazard identification, and completion of shift safety audits/walks. \n\u2022 Strong communication skills with a proven ability to lead effective shift handoffs, escalate issues appropriately, and drive cross-shift alignment. \n\u2022 Ability to coach, develop, and motivate hourly employees; experience with performance management and training within a manufacturing setting.\n\n \n#LI-CB3\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
