Job Description - Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Eaton\u2019s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift. This position is based on-site at our Horseheads, NY manufacturing facility. In this role you will be responsible for leading and directing hourly manufacturing employees on 3rd shift (11pm - 7am) to achieve the plant goals focusing on safety, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, productivity, and cost-out. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment while supporting MESH and other Eaton initiatives.\n * Guide the manufacturing team to meet production schedules, exceed customer expectations, and improve on-time delivery, labor utilization, and productivity.\n * Fully engage the workforce by empowering team members with decision-making authority and encouraging involvement in change initiatives.\n * Promote lean manufacturing, continuous learning, and innovation through the Continuous Improvement Framework Management System.\n * Reduce past due orders, scrap, rework, and overtime costs while maintaining quality objectives and standard work formats.\n * Train, evaluate, coach, and develop employees to meet performance goals, including operator certifications and cross-training.\n * Advise and support employees in achieving value stream, departmental, and plant goals.\n * Uphold employee relations and ensure adherence to the Union-Management Labor Contract, applying disciplinary measures judiciously.\n * Conduct weekly team meetings, daily Tier Meetings, and shift handovers to share vision, priorities, and critical information.\n * Integrate the Eaton Leadership Model and Leader Attributes into daily operations and maintain consistent policy administration.\n * Ensure attendance and pay records are kept up to date and are accurate for assigned personnel, including OT equalization per CBA language.\n * Effectively communicates with the department engineers, planning and maintenance to support plant and departmental goals.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * Associates\u2019 degree or higher from an accredited institution\n * Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment\n * Minimum of 2 years of experience as a team lead or manager of people\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Experience with CNC Programming and electronics assembly\n * Labor relations experience, managing a team under a Collective Bargaining Agreement\n * Experience supervising maintenance or similar technical team members\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and specified technical information\n\n * Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and project management skills\n * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)\n * Comfortable being the Company Agent, carrying messages from Sr. Leadership to the shop floor even in instances where that message differs from personal opinion\n * Excellent interpersonal communication skills to be able to respond and deal with diverse employee-related situations (recruitment, training, motivation, discipline, changes in priorities)\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
