Position Summary:
The Production Team Leader at Continental Linen Services in Kalamazoo, MI, is responsible for managing the operation of multiple departments within production. This role requires a combination of leadership skills, hands-on production management, and basic mechanical knowledge to address minor technical issues with the washers and dryers. The Team Leader will ensure that the production floor operates efficiently, meets production targets, and maintains the highest standards of quality and safety.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Helps establish work priorities in conjunction with supervisor. Receives assignments from supervisor, then assigns and trains members of the group in safe and correct work procedures and performance required.
- Conduct team meetings to discuss operational updates, challenges, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plans work to be performed by the group. Assists assigned personnel in resolving on-the-job production problems.
- Monitor the daily operations of the Wash Aisle and Mat Department to ensure flow of product through the plan is at a consistent and efficient pace.
- Ensure that machines are running efficiently and that quality standards are maintained.
- Inspects, coordinates, and records work performed by the group.
- Refers problems involving job discipline to supervisor for handling.
- Performs additional tasks as required by plant management.
- Helps department with housekeeping duties during and at the end of each shift.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical issues with the washers, dryers or other equipment. Call and liaise with third-party companies for guidance on repairs.
- Coordinate with external vendors or technicians for major repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain a log of all maintenance activities and repairs.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements of the Role:
- Work is performed in hot, humid conditions during summer and cool/cold conditions during winter. There is high noise in certain areas.
- Ability to push/pull industrial laundry carts and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to count accurately, read/ write English
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing simple tasks
