Job Description - Production Worker on First Shift

A position that is: Hourly, Full time (1st Shift), Mon-Thurs 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, overtime on Friday as needed

                    The production worker performs repetitive workstation or line production operations to manufacture and package products according to work orders. This role is responsible for operating filling and packaging equipment, labeling, and palletizing finished goods while maintaining accuracy and safety standards. The production worker ensures products are prepared and handled efficiently to meet quality, production, and delivery expectations.


                    Key Responsibilities Include:



                    • Follow written work orders (PWTs) to produce and package various products

                    • Operate and monitor bottle-filling, sub-assembly, and labeling equipment safely and efficiently

                    • Gather raw materials, assist with line setup, and produce samples for quality inspection

                    • Upon quality approval, fill, label, pack, and stack products onto pallets

                    • Report defective materials, quality issues, or equipment concerns to the supervisor

                    • Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all prescribed safety procedures

                    • Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned machines as needed

                    • Complete production tasks in alignment with daily schedules and priorities

                    • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, performing pre-use inspections and reporting maintenance needs

                    • Package and label bulk materials for replenishment orders when required

                    • Follow direction and adapt to changes in workload or scheduling

                    • Participate in department meetings and required training sessions

                    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying 5S and Lean principles

                    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet production and customer needs



                    Education:



                    • High School Diploma or GED


                    Experience and/or Training:



                    • No prior experience required; training will be provided

                    • Familiarity with quality and safety procedures in a production environment

                    • Basic mathematical understanding for production measurements and counts


                    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



                    • Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and safety documentation

                    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and product quality

                    • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability

                    • Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills

                    • Reliability, adaptability, and willingness to learn new systems and processes

                    • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn production systems such as JD Edwards




                    • Previous experience in production, assembly, or manufacturing environments

                    • Familiarity with Lean principles or 5S programs

                    • Experience operating forklifts or other production equipment


                     


                    Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:



                    • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs. occasionally and push/pull drums up to 400 lbs. with equipment assistance

                    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift

                    • Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders

                    • Manual handling of equipment, bottles, and raw materials

                    • Ability to stay focused in a repetitive task environment

                    • Attention to detail and ability to follow production instructions accurately

                    • Problem-solving and decision-making within defined procedures

                    • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends based on business needs

                    • Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment

                    • Exposure to varying temperatures, including extreme heat during summer months

                    • May work in high-traffic areas with moving machinery and forklifts

                    • PPE required including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes
