Professional Services Engineer

You’ll play a key role in delivering and supporting Penlink’s cloud-based and on-premise solutions for our global customers, helping agencies unlock the full potential of their data. 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Implement, support, and maintain customer cloud-based and on-premises solutions across multiple platforms and environments.
• Work across a variety of technologies and environments, continuously developing technical knowledge and expertise.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Application Support, DevOps, R&D, and QA, to support customer implementations and ongoing solutions.
• Manage assigned tasks and projects, ensuring timely completion and effective communication of status and issues.
• Participate in the staging, testing, and deployment of advanced technical solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and utilize serviceability tools to support efficient implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing customer support.
• Identify and address technical issues across customer environments and work collaboratively to develop effective solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and contribute to organizational knowledge sharing.
• Take ownership of assigned technical solutions and customer implementation activities from planning through completion.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Application Support Engineer, Professional Services Engineer, or similar technical role.
• Advanced knowledge of IT systems, including solution implementation, networking, servers, and web-based applications.
• Strong experience with Linux, cloud environments, and VMware ESXi.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining both physical and virtual servers, including cloud and VMware environments.
• Experience supporting customer environments and working with customers across global locations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented, hands-on approach.
• Strong task management skills and the ability to effectively influence and collaborate without direct authority.
• Familiarity with cloud security and compliance practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux and Windows scripting languages, including Bash and PowerShell.
• Experience deploying Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Solid understanding of database concepts and experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
• Experience working with global customers in a customer-facing technical support or professional services role.
• Additional language proficiency is a plus.
• Relevant technical certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, Linux, AWS, or Azure are preferred but not required.

This position currently follows a hybrid schedule requiring two days per week in our Lincoln, Nebraska office. Onsite requirements may be adjusted based on business needs and company or departmental policy.
