ABOUT US
BACR is a nonprofit organization founded in 1976 with the mission to “work in the heart of our communities to foster generational change.” Within BACR, Engaging Communities in Advocacy and Policy (ECAP) facilitates community-based public health advocacy with communities throughout the Bay Area. To fulfill that mission the ECAP team works with youth and community members to implement campaigns to increase access to health foods, pass comprehensive tobacco policy, and develop media campaigns to reduce youth access to alcohol and drugs in the community. Within ECAP, the Tobacco Prevention Coordinator works with youth and adults in Marin County to reduce tobacco use through education, advocacy, and community change work.
ABOUT YOU

You have experience working with communities and want to help empower them to reduce tobacco use in the community and related health disparities. You work well on your own, but enjoy being part of a supportive team with a common mission of dismantling structural, race-based barriers to health.
POSITION OVERVIEW

Health Educator’s outreach will include presentations for adults and youth, working with schools and community-based organizations, educating adults and youth on program objectives so they can support policy efforts and connecting residents to quit support.
