Description

Responsible for managing a continuing education program at the Center for Substance Training and Telementoring within the Be Well Institute for Substance Use and Related Disorders including staff management, program planning, day-to-day operations, and budgetary oversight.



Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee daily operations and coordination of educational programs associated with the telementoring center.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of telementoring staff.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of progress reporting to project team, funding agencies, and community partners.
  • Oversee quality control efforts relating to educational materials, program website, and promotional/marketing items.
  • Ensure continued growth of educational programming through a variety of recruitment mechanisms, with the assistance of program staff.
  • Support the training center's annual symposium, the Texas Substance Use Symposium, through managerial oversight of the event.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including community-based providers, university faculty, community members/general public, and others.


Qualifications

Education: 

High school diploma or GED with 9 Years of experience or a bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in healthcare or the social sciences preferred. 

  • Thorough knowledge of substance use disorders and accompanying evidence-based treatments.
  • Knowledge of online learning strategies and technologies (e.g., webinars, online learning communities, learning management systems), including best practice for adult learners and telementoring.
  • Familiarity with continuing education (CE) credentialing, for multiple health and behavioral health disciplines, including compliance with CE requirements.
  • Knowledge of large event (conference) management strategies including logistics, recruitment/marketing, and designing educational programming. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with project/program management, including contract management, proposals/grants, and compliance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with continuing medical education departments and other regulatory and agency/department management.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to coordinate the diverse components of a project by quality project planning, execution and change control to achieve required balance of time, cost, quality and results.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in team-oriented and goal focused environment.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
