Job Description - Program Manager Trainee 23 Hour Crisis & Community Stabilization Programs

Job Overview


Reliant Solutions is seeking a motivated, professional, and compassionate Program Manager Trainee to join our growing Behavioral Health team supporting our 23 Hour Crisis Stabilization and Community Stabilization Programs throughout the state of Virginia.



This position is ideal for an individual looking to grow into a leadership role within crisis services and behavioral health program management. The Program Manager Trainee will work closely with executive leadership and clinical staff to learn daily operations, program compliance, crisis response coordination, staffing support, documentation oversight, and state regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, leadership potential, organizational abilities, and a passion for serving individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral health crises.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Assist with oversight of daily operations for 23 Hour Crisis and Community Stabilization programs

  • Learn and support Virginia DBHDS regulations, licensing standards, and program compliance requirements

  • Monitor staff scheduling, coverage, and program workflow

  • Support onboarding and training of direct care and crisis staff

  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives

  • Assist with incident reporting and follow-up procedures

  • Communicate professionally with community partners, hospitals, CSBs, and referral sources

  • Support crisis response coordination and client service delivery

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions

  • Provide administrative and operational support to Program Leadership as assigned



Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

  • Relevant behavioral health or crisis services experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements

  • Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, crisis intervention, case management, or human services preferred

  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment



Requirements



  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

  • Must be able to pass:

    • Criminal Background Check

    • Child Protective Services Check

    • Drug Screening

    • DMV Driving Record Check



  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Must be willing to complete all required Virginia behavioral health trainings

  • Flexible availability may be required, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed






Preferred Skills



  • Knowledge of Virginia behavioral health regulations and DBHDS standards

  • Experience in crisis stabilization or community-based services

  • Ability to lead and motivate staff

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Experience with documentation auditing and compliance monitoring
