For over 50 years, Bet Tzedek Legal Services has provided high-quality, free legal services to Los Angeles’ most vulnerable residents. Bet Tzedek seeks a program referrals coordinator to join our Preventing and Ending Homelessness Project (PEHP). The programs referral coordinator will connect housed and unhoused clients receiving legal representation with appropriate social services and community resources, while providing administrative and program support to track and strengthen client outcomes. This position requires an individual with exceptional communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of community members who are vulnerable and often overlooked by our society.
This position is eligible for Bet Tzedek Legal Services’ hybrid/remote workplace designation. While the primary workplace is Bet Tzedek’s offices, at the discretion of the immediate supervisor, the employee may be permitted to work remotely or may be required to work in other locations depending on workload/business obligations. Candidates must be in the Southern California region and able to commute if needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Referral Coordination and Service Linkage
· Collaborate with Bet Tzedek attorneys to assess client needs and connect client to appropriate social services, such as rental assistance, housing navigation providers, or case management.
· Proactively engage with current clients who receive social service referrals to help ensure timely follow-up with service providers.
Data entry, reporting, and resource management
· Enter and proactively maintain accurate case, client, referral, and reporting data in compliance with Bet Tzedek policies and procedures.
· Prepare and regularly update data tracking reports and assignment logs.
· Assemble and maintain well-organized internal and external resource lists, including city-specific community resources.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly grant reports and proactively review team data to assess grant compliance.
Intakes and Relationship building
· Independently research, build, and maintain relationships with social services and community partners.
· Participate in in-person intake clinics, outreach, and education events with unhoused individuals and individuals at imminent risk of homelessness (local travel required).
· Other assignments as deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
· AA/AS and/or BA/BS degree; or high school diploma or GED (required).
· Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a professional office setting (preferred).
· Excellent time management, project management, and problem-solving skills (required).
· Exceptionally organized and self-motivated, with excellent attention to details (required).
· Excellent people skills (required) and experience in working with clients in crisis or distress (strongly preferred)
· Experience working with social service providers in Los Angeles County (preferred).
· Familiarity with Legal Server or other cloud-based case management system (preferred).
· Ease with oral and written communication in, and ability to provide oral interpretation and written translation to and from, English and Spanish (preferred).
