Project Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to join our team. Duties

• Manage and oversee all financial transactions related to construction projects, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.


• Conduct detailed cost analysis and cost management to monitor project budgets and forecast financial outcomes accurately.


• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, cash flow statements, and project profitability assessments.


• Reconcile balance sheets and perform account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy across accounting software.


• Implement and maintain internal controls in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to safeguard company assets.


• Analyze financial concepts including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting standards relevant to construction projects.


• Support forecasting efforts by collecting data, analyzing trends, and interpreting financial reports to inform project planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in financial accounting within the construction or manufacturing industry with a strong understanding of cost accounting analysis.


• Proficiency with VISTA Accounting Software is a plus.


• Demonstrated ability in data analysis using spreadsheets and business intelligence tools for financial report writing and Excel data analysis.


• Strong skills in cash flow analysis, budget management, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.


• Excellent communication skills for interpreting complex financial reports and collaborating across departments.


• Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and cost management tasks efficiently.
