Project Director – MEP / Process Piping

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking an experienced Project Director with a strong background in MEP construction, mechanical systems, and process piping to lead complex commercial and industrial projects.

This is a senior-level leadership role responsible for overseeing project strategy, financial performance, client relationships, and overall execution from preconstruction through completion.

Responsibilities

• 
  

  Provide overall leadership for large-scale MEP, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and process piping projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and profitability.

  
  


• 
  

  Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide strategic oversight of project planning, procurement, staffing, and execution.

  
  


• 
  

  Review project scope, drawings, specifications, contracts, and financial performance.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and resolve major project risks, design issues, schedule concerns, and cost impacts.

  
  


• 
  

  Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide leadership during preconstruction and project planning.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.

  
  


• 
  

  Drive accountability, communication, and continuous improvement across the project team.

  
  

Ideal Background

• 
  

  10+ years of construction project management experience, with significant experience leading large MEP projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong background in mechanical construction and process piping.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with complex HVAC, plumbing, industrial, commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Proven experience managing significant project financials and overall project performance.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong leadership experience overseeing Project Managers and field teams.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and change management.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong client-facing and communication skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
