Project Engineer

Location: Flanders, NJ

Garonit Pharmaceutical is seeking a Project Engineer to support capital projects at our growing Flanders, New Jersey facility. This role will focus on the construction, commissioning, and startup of new pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory spaces, working closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and support CAPEX projects related to pharmaceutical facility construction, equipment installation, and commissioning.


• Support the construction and startup of GMP commercial manufacturing rooms, a Microbiology Laboratory, and a Quality Control (QC) Laboratory.


• Coordinate contractors, engineering partners, equipment vendors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.


• Monitor project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and construction progress and promptly communicate potential delays or risks.


• Review engineering drawings, facility layouts, equipment specifications, scopes of work, and related project documentation.


• Support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, qualification, and project turnover activities.


• Conduct project walkthroughs and coordinate onsite contractor and vendor activities.


• Ensure projects are completed in accordance with applicable cGMP, safety, engineering, regulatory, and Company requirements.


• Maintain project documentation and provide regular progress updates to management.


• Perform other related duties as assigned based on business and project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.


• 2–3+ years of relevant engineering or project experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.


• Experience supporting or completing CAPEX projects within a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated facility strongly preferred.


• Experience with facility construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities.


• Experience working with contractors, engineering firms, and equipment vendors.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.


• Strong project coordination, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively against strict project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $95,000–$105,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related considerations.

This position is also eligible for consideration for a discretionary year-end bonus, based on Company and individual performance. Any bonus is discretionary and is not guaranteed.

About The Role
