Job Description - Project Engineer - NM

Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Project Manager through all phases of construction projects, from startup through closeout.

  • Manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, permits, contracts, and project records.

  • Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, material procurement, and vendor/subcontractor compliance requirements.

  • Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, invoice review, and subcontract administration.

  • Support project scheduling, milestone tracking, and procurement efforts to help maintain project timelines.

  • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential schedule, cost, or coordination issues.

  • Assist with quality control, safety documentation, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities.



Required Qualifications



  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in commercial construction.

  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, procurement processes, and change management.

  • Experience with project budgeting, cost tracking, and subcontract administration.

  • Proficiency in ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software.
