Project Manager - Commercial Electrical

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role managing projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work closely with field teams, general contractors, and internal departments to deliver large-scale healthcare and institutional projects on time and within budget.

You’ll have strong internal support from estimating, BIM, and leadership teams, while maintaining full ownership of project performance and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion
• Manage field execution, coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Interface directly with general contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Oversee project schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking
• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams on scope alignment
• Partner with BIM teams to ensure design intent translates into field execution
• Monitor project profitability, identify risks, and implement solutions
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting

• 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical project management
• Background with an electrical contractor (GC-only or residential experience will not be considered)
• Experience managing projects in the $3M–$15M+ range (preferred)
• Strong understanding of full project lifecycle (scheduling, cost control, change orders, field coordination)
• Experience with healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects (strong plus)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Experience with Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar tools (preferred)
• Proven ability to own and execute projects end-to-end

• $125K–$140K base salary + bonus potential
