Position: Project Engineer (Power Systems)



Location: Pasadena, California



Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our team in Pasadena, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with specific expertise in power systems. This role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of power system projects.



  • Oversee and manage power system projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and budget.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Field and Shop Technicians, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.

  • Coordinate between Project Managers, field teams, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Assess the technical performance of Field and Shop Technicians, and perform annual reviews to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Develop and implement procedures to improve project and operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate current test equipment and make recommendations for future purchases.

  • Ensure field compliance with safety standards such as NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Cal OSHA. Conduct random field audits to assess safety and quality.

  • Lead investigations into project deficiencies, facilitating corrective actions.

  • Respond promptly to daily communications from customers and team members, ensuring smooth project coordination.

  • Track, coordinate, and deliver technical and safety training for field personnel.

  • Review and approve final project reports, ensuring accuracy and quality.


Requirements

Technical Expertise:



  • Experience with electrical testing on low and medium voltage equipment, including substations, switchgears, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, transformers, and grounding systems.

  • Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.

  • Familiarity with NETA standards for acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems.

Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the power systems industry.

  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70B (Electrical Maintenance) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work on-site and adapt to project demands.
