Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for RCORP Grant

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4, 4.5 or 5 days a week 

Salary:  $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 (Travel is included)

Job Details:

• The RCORP-Overdoes Response project will support improved health care in rural Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties by addressing immediate and short-term needs related to the provision of SUD (Substance Use Disorder) services, and will reduce and prevent the risk of overdoses.  Behavioral Health disorders, including SUD, opioid use disorders (OUD), and mental illnesses including depression and anxiety are a significant and growing concern throughout the service area.  PMHNP will see all patients who screen positive for SUD/OUD and related infectious diseases connected with treatment, including MOUD. 


• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate accurate diagnosis.


• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.


• Provide medication management, ongoing psychiatric care, and supportive counseling as appropriate.


• Order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing relevant to psychiatric treatment.


• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social worker, counselors, and community partners to coordinate care.


• Provide in-person and telehealth behavioral health services.


• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes accurately within the EMR.


• Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and self-management strategies.


• Assess barriers to treatment adherence and coordinate interventions to improve outcomes.


• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, interdisciplinary meetings, and case conferences.


• Support care coordination, referral management, and continuity of care activities.


• Respond appropriately to psychiatric and medical emergencies within scope of practice.


• Participate in community outreach, health education, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
