Alpert Jewish Family Service is looking for a Psychiatrist who wants more than just another clinical position.

We are also preparing to open our new Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinic, and our Psychiatrist will provide clinical oversight for this exciting new service. Previous TMS experience is highly valued, but it is not required. We are prepared to provide training for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and crisis intervention for clients with a broad range of behavioral health needs. You’ll work collaboratively with clinicians and other members of our behavioral health team to develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans. 

You will also:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans. 
• Provide psychopharmacological treatment and medication management. 
• Monitor client response to medication and adjust treatment when appropriate. 
• Maintain accurate clinical and patient records. 
• Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, clinicians, and other members of the care team. 
• Provide consultation and guidance within a collaborative-care environment. 
• Help provide clinical oversight and leadership for our developing TMS program. 
• Work with individuals and families experiencing complex behavioral health needs and, when necessary, crisis situations.  

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a psychiatrist who is clinically strong, collaborative, compassionate, and excited about helping an organization continue to expand its behavioral health services.

Candidates should have:

• Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatry residency/training program. 
• Current Florida physician licensure. 
• Appropriate psychiatry certification/licensure. 
• Active DEA licensure. 
• Experience providing evidence-based psychiatric care. 
• At least two years of clinically relevant experience treating adults. 
• Experience with psychopharmacology and medication management. 
• Strong clinical documentation and recordkeeping skills. 
• Comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.  
• Familiarity with telehealth and the ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities.  

TMS Experience

TMS experience is a plus, not a requirement.

With our new TMS clinic preparing to open, this position offers a unique opportunity to help develop and oversee an innovative treatment service within an established behavioral health program. For an excellent psychiatrist who has not previously worked with TMS, Alpert JFS is willing to provide the necessary training.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an approved medical school.
• Psychiatric residency and Psychiatry training in a program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Medical Association.
• Certification/Licensure: Florida license to practice as a physician.
• A certification in general psychiatry and licensure in psychiatry.
• Active DEA license from the State of Florida.
• Experience and confidence in identifying and implementing evidence-based practices in mental/ behavioral health.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinically relevant experience treating adults in a variety of settings.
• A minimum of 1 year providing medication management service to adults with substantial competence in psychopharmacology.
• Experience working in an office setting with thought leader psychiatrists and psychologists and clinicians.
• Experience working with adults and families in a crisis.
• Proficient notetaking and record-keeping skills.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms for virtual consultations.
• Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Comfortable and familiar with the cultural needs of a Jewish population.
