POSITION SUMMARY

The Public Areas Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, sanitation, and presentation of Hideaway Golf Club's facilities to the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

This position ensures that all member and employee areas—including locker rooms, restrooms, spa and fitness facilities, administrative offices, retail spaces, laundry operations, dining areas, and other public spaces—are clean, well-stocked, sanitary, and welcoming at all times. Every detail contributes to the exceptional member experience that defines Hideaway Golf Club.

Public Areas Attendants take pride in maintaining an environment that reflects the Club's commitment to understated luxury, professionalism, safety, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain all assigned public areas to established Club standards. 

• Maintain locker rooms, restrooms, spa and fitness facilities, administrative offices, retail areas, employee facilities, corridors, stairwells, and other common areas. 

• Dust, vacuum, mop, sweep, polish, disinfect, and replenish supplies throughout assigned areas. 

• Clean glass, mirrors, windows, doors, walls, fixtures, and furniture. 

• Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly. 

• Ensure all public spaces remain immaculately clean, organized, odor-free, and presentation-ready throughout each shift. 

Laundry Services

• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and related laundry equipment. 

• Wash, dry, fold, organize, and distribute towels, linens, uniforms, and other Club-issued items. 

• Monitor linen inventory and report shortages, damaged items, or replacement needs. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry facilities. 

Facility Appearance

• Maintain luxury hospitality standards throughout the Club. 

• Inspect assigned areas regularly and correct deficiencies immediately. 

• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, safety hazards, or repair needs promptly. 

• Assist in maintaining seasonal décor, furniture placement, and presentation standards as assigned. 

• Help ensure Club facilities consistently reflect Hideaway's standards of excellence, cleanliness, and understated luxury.

Member Service & Professional Standards

• Greet Members and Guests courteously whenever appropriate. 

• Perform duties discreetly while minimizing disruption to Members and Club operations. 

• Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping requests. 

• Protect Member privacy and maintain confidentiality. 

• Assist with event setup, cleaning, and restoration before, during, and after Club events, tournaments, and special functions. 

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all OSHA regulations and Club safety procedures. 

• Safely operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals according to manufacturer specifications. 

• Properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE). 

• Report unsafe conditions immediately. 

• Follow proper sanitation and infection prevention procedures.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• Previous housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, hospitality, country club, hotel, or commercial cleaning experience preferred. 

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge & Skills

Working knowledge of:

• Commercial cleaning practices

• Proper use of cleaning tools and supplies

Certifications

Preferred but not required:

• Bloodborne Pathogens Training 

• OSHA Safety Training 

Schedule Requirements

• Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Criminal and civil background clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment 

This position works throughout Hideaway Golf Club, including the clubhouse, locker rooms, spa and fitness facilities, retail spaces, administrative offices, dining areas, employee facilities, laundry rooms, restrooms, and other public and back-of-house areas. The Public Areas Attendant regularly operates commercial cleaning equipment, laundry equipment, vacuums, floor care equipment, and cleaning tools while working around cleaning chemicals, disinfectants and varying indoor and outdoor conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

• Stand and walk for extended periods. 

• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs. 

• Push and pull housekeeping carts, laundry carts, and cleaning equipment. 

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

• Operate commercial washers, dryers, vacuums, floor machines, and other housekeeping equipment. 

• Perform repetitive cleaning motions throughout the workday. 

• Work safely around cleaning chemicals and wet surfaces.
