Public Safety Supervisor-FT 7p-7a/LGH

Responsibilities include leading and motivating assigned staff, reviewing and evaluating work performance, improving processes and productivity, identifying challenges and developing plans to mitigate and/or eliminate. Oversees assigned shift operations, provides training to staff members and conducts evaluation testing to assure performance standardization and compliance.  Additional duties may include providing investigative assistance, coordinating training programs, conducting security audits, managing physical security electronic and technological systems, and maintaining appropriate KPI’s and departmental statistical data, as well as working with the Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and Chief to identify and improve negative trends. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the deployment and oversight of a variety of proactive patrol techniques and strategies to ensure the safety and security of all Centra Health affiliated persons, property, and assets, on assigned shift.  Ensures the team utilizes self-initiated collaborative partnerships to identify and reduce Centra Health’s exposure to internal and external risks and threats.
• Responsible for maintaining a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas which may include but are not limited to areas such as the main campus, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas, stairways, tunnels, mechanical areas, or patient treatment areas.
• Oversees, coordinates, assigns, and reviews the work activities of all Public Safety Officers assigned to shift.  Responsible for managing and supervising the staff’s work performance, training, and schedule, as well as planning to cover required open shifts, when necessary.
• Responsible for the orientation and training of all new Public Safety Officers and provides on-going direction to all Public Safety Officers. 
• Serves as the lead reviewer of Officer Incident Reports (OIR’s) reporting forward high priority circumstances and implements a solution for correction or appropriate follow-up actions, when appropriate. 
• Leads initial investigations and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances.  Conducts follow-up investigations on reported security incidents and coordinates case management files to be reviewed by Lieutenant and Deputy Chief, prior to submission to local law enforcement partners and/or the Commonwealth’s Magistrate office. 
• Coaches and mentors’ staff; remains objective when dealing with issues; seeks input and provides consistent and timely feedback; remains accessible and visible to staff; communicates consistently with staff; coordinates and participates in public safety training and development programs.
• Participate in local, state, and Federal advisory groups to stay current with security-related information and events.

Travel Required: Travel is expected to be between Centra owned facilities and training assignments.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Driver's license
• CPR and CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
• Firearms proficiency certification 
• Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (consideration for experience and professional certifications)
• ASIS (PSP-Certified Physical Security Professional
