The Purchasing Agent is responsible for researching product requirements sourcing vendors and working with vendors to obtain highest quality products at competitive prices through bid process.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for negotiating with vendors to find quality product at competitive prices and adequate delivery time.
• Coordinates the purchase order and bid solicitation process.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of the warehouse.
• Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
• Responsible for daily inventory stock ordering.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need to Succeed

Job Requirements (skills, knowledge, and abilities)

• Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
• Knowledge of OSHA storage regulations and hazard chemical labeling and other applicable OSHA requirements.
• Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.
• Knowledge of gaming and alcohol beverage control laws and regulations.
• Broad variety of tasks and deadlines requires an irregular work schedule.
• Ability to perform assigned duties in an interruptive environment.
• Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Experience using Stratton Warren System preferred.

Educational Requirements

• Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in purchasing related positions
• A two (2) year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience.
• Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.
