Job Description - QOPC & SLC Clinical Trainer


Since its founding in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) has been providing family-centered behavioral healthcare for women, children, and families. As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment, and housing. 


POSITION SUMMARY 

The Clinical Trainer supports the development and advancement of clinical Queen of Peace Center and Saint Louis Counseling’s staff by leading training initiatives that strengthen skills, promote evidence-based practices, and enhance service delivery across counseling programs. This role serves as a central resource for clinical education, partnering with leadership and staff to build consistency, confidence, and high-quality care. The Clinical Trainer also contributes to community engagement, crisis response support, and program development to meet evolving ministry and community needs. 

OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES  


  • Design and deliver clinical trainings that build core competencies and promote evidence-based practices (e.g., trauma-informed care), including CPI and other required interventions. 

  •  Partner with clinical leadership to assess training needs and align initiatives with ministry priorities. 

  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of clinical staff through structured and ad hoc training opportunities. 

  • Develop and deliver live and recorded training for internal and external audiences, including continuing education offerings. 

  • Maintain and update training materials to ensure quality, relevance, and alignment with best practices. 

  • Represent the ministries externally and collaborate with community partners to strengthen behavioral health response systems. 

  • Respond to behavioral health crises in schools and community settings, providing clinical support and guidance. 

  •  Deliver Mental Health First Aid and support broader community education efforts. 

  • Lead coordination of the internship program, including outreach, vetting, and candidate selection, and building partnerships with local universities. 

  • Support development of a strong clinical workforce pipeline aligned with organizational needs. 

  • Facilitate Love and Logic groups and other structured programming; support development of group-based interventions and trainings. 

  • Serve as a key partner to clinical managers and program leadership, influencing practice through training, coaching, and consultation 

  • Promote consistency in clinical approaches across diverse programs and service settings. 

  • Perform administrative, operational, and other duties as assigned, including the ability to lift to 20 pounds. 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 


  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field. 

  • Current clinical licensure in the state of Missouri. 

  • 3–5 years of clinical experience, including training or staff development. 

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel frequently among assigned locations.

  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clinicians, school leaders, and community stakeholders. 

  • Operational Leadership: Strong organizational and operational management skills with the ability to coordinate complex services across multiple sites. 

  • Crisis Leadership: Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solutions focused when managing high-stakes or crisis situations. 

  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Skilled in setting clear expectations and boundaries while maintaining strong partnerships with schools and external partners. 

  • Team Leadership & Accountability: Proven ability to lead teams, support professional growth, and maintain accountability within a mission-driven culture. 

  • Community Engagement & Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regularly to school sites, community events, and stakeholder meetings.

Pre-Employment Screening

Various positions will require physical examination, Tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis A. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of required screening.
