Quality Assurance Auditor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The QA Auditor is responsible for performing spot audits on Threading Lines for Premium (VAM®), Semi-Premium (Atlas Bradford®), and API connections, as well as upstream processes including Heat Treatment, Inspection, Cut-Off, and Hydrotesting operations, when required, at Vallourec STAR Houston. The position is responsible for identifying, documenting, investigating, and helping resolve deviations from established processes, procedures, and quality requirements. Additional responsibilities include reviewing and validating Digital Log Sheets (DLS), buck-on graphs, and other threading-related documentation. The QA Auditor also supports the Gage Lab by inspecting molds and preparing and setting gauging instruments for production activities. This role works closely with Production and Quality teams to promote continuous improvement initiatives, contain quality issues, and support root cause analysis, containment and corrective actions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform quality audits on Threading Lines for Premium (VAM®), Semi-Premium (Atlas Bradford®), and API connections.


• Document and report audit findings using approved electronic systems.


• Support investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities related to audit findings and quality incidents.


• Review and validate buck-on graphs to ensure compliance with product and process requirements.


• Perform document reviews for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and internal procedures.


• Conduct technical release of threading orders prior to shipment or subsequent processing.


• Create, review, and maintain Digital Log Sheet (DLS) configurations.


• Train QC Inspectors on Gauging Procedures, Product Drawings and work instructions


• Issue electronic Threading Certificates of Compliance (CoC).


• Support the Gage Lab through:
  
  
  
  • Performing receiving inspections of couplings for VAM®, Atlas Bradford®, and API connections.
  
  
  • Inspecting molds and related tooling.
  
  
  • Preparing and setting gauging instruments for production use.
  
  
  
  


• Monitor compliance with quality procedures, work instructions, records and operational requirements.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and process efficiency.


• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve quality-related issues.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook, and the ability to learn new applications.


• Data generation with internal systems, I.e.: Fabriq, DLS, Smartsheet, Shalyn, Yard truck, PSI, Pipe EFD, SAP, Power Bi, etc.


• Good communication and team-building skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Quality Control Inspector preferred


• Quality Team lead experienced


• Stress Relief training


• Phosphate training


• Buck-on training


• Excel Proficiency training

• Keep equipment and working area clean for the purpose of safety, appearance, and operating efficiency.


• Place equipment, tooling, and gauging in the proper location at the end of the shift or completion of the job task. 


• Clean up the work area at the end of the shift and/or during the shift as required.

SAFETY AND WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Observe safety rules and wear required safety equipment while on the job. 


• Always follow what is known to be safe practice, safety rules. 


• Participating in the Safety Programs: Risk reduction, reporting of UA/ UC, Near Misses. 


• Noise may at times be to a high degree. 


• Work for extended periods of time in ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 120 degrees F. 


• Walking between lines and threading line’s location, entering different process stations 


• Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to outside weather elements. 


• Some exposure to vibrating tools
